I'm female.  I'm 24.  I live in Iowa.

Whew....now that THAT'S out of the way...

If you still want to know more, I guess I can tell you.  I...like pretty much everything.  I have way too many hobbies for one person, simply because I want to know everything about everything.  I relish the concept of DIY and this inevitably makes for numerous frustrations as I scorn buying anything "premade" and easy, but I believe that the only way to learn something is to just get out there and experience it.  I credit 11 years in 4-H (no, I don't live on a farm) for giving me interest to gain skills in such arcane areas as:  sewing, cooking, woodworking, tablesettings, cut flowers arrangements, decoupage, making little artsy things like birthday cards, photography, etc etc.  Not that I'm any GOOD at any of it, but I like to do it.  I firmly believe that one of the paths to happiness includes being a "well rounded" individual.  And hey, with so much crap to do, I'm never bored. 

Just to prove that I'm not a displaced 50's housewife, I'll mention that I am working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering.  I like technology and gadgets (although I rarely can afford them, school of hard knocks, yadda yadda...) and I'm often the one friends who are less technologically inclined come to for advice in such matters.  My only beef is that I think the youth of today are learning to not so much assist and accentuate their work, but to rely on it.  I always thought that a person's handwriting was a revealing and interesting thing...but these days kids starting typing almost when they learn to write...so they never bother to learn things like cursive etc.  But yeah, that's old news.

I swear that I'm not a displaced 50's housewife.  I'm modern!!!  I can torrent!

Other details: 

I'm the oldest of two children; my brother is 12.  I love dogs and have had wire-haired fox terriers since I was four.  My favorite food is anything pasta related, or chinese food, but I'm not picky.  Which reminds me, I have a Chinese language minor, which usually impresses people.  My favorite color is...green or blue or purple or yellow or orange or something.  I listen to all kinds of music, except country and rap, but there are always exceptions.  My favorite genres, though, are folksy things, non-annoying indie pop, and in the past I was a metalhead and I still indulge from time to time.
